  | Friends,
Welcome to Cathedral, a work of music and art for the Web.
On-line since June 10, 1997, Cathedral is growing toward the year 2001, and a 48-hour concert/webcast, with sounds streaming into the piece from listeners around the world.
Within the Cathedral website, you will find seven main areas to explore.
- The Virtual Instruments allow listeners to play along with Cathedral in real time in various rooms of the site. Our intention in creating these instruments (playable by everyone) is to build a place for community music making on the Web.
- The Stage, where live webcasts of the music of Cathedral occur, including performances by the Cathedral Band, and where previous webcasts are archived.
- A slowly accumulating suite of pages and music for each of the 5 Moments. While the artistic design of Cathedral is slowly being revealed over a period of years, it centers around five mystical moments in time, called The Building, The Bomb, The Pyramid, The Web, and The Dance.
- A Codex, containing the thirty-two voices of Cathedral.
- The Cathedral Chronicles, a collection of literary thoughts and postmodern documentation by writers associated with Cathedral (A. S. Chronicler begins the tale . . .).
- An information area containing a mailing list, FAQs, help pages, and a guestbook (under development).
- A Mandala, archiving previously featured music within a web of continually changing images.

To receive news about upcoming Cathedral events, both on the web and live, please join the mailing list located in the Contact area of the site.
And thanks again for visiting. All of us at Cathedral hope you have an entertaining time.
For everyone associated with Cathedral,
Best wishes to all,
William Duckworth |
