The Relâche Ensemble is a performing ensemble and producing organization dedicated to the development and performance of music from the late 20th century. Recognized for its interpretive and technical skills, the Relâche Ensemble performs works by composers from throughout the world, integrating state-of-the-art electronic and computer technologies with a variety of late twentieth century compositional techniques. Working directly with composers, Relâche has created an extensive repertoire of works, numbering over 400. The current active repertoire lists 50 works, most having been created during the past six years.

The Ensemble has been featured on radio broadcasts in North America, Europe, and Australia. In addition to performing in cities throughout the United States, the ensemble has performed in Tokyo, Ghent, Amsterdam, Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, Vienna, Prague, Vilnius, Kaunus, and Caracas. Among the festivals the Relâche Ensemble has appeared at are New Music America 1984, 1987 and 1988, the Vienna Festival Week, Prague Spring and Festival de Music Latinoamericano. The Relâche Ensemble has also recorded for Mode Records, O.O. Discs, Hat-Art Records, CRI and Innova Records.

Since 1993, the Relâche Ensemble has participated in Music In Motion, a project designed to develop audiences through collabortations among composers, performing ensembles and host sites in five U.S. cities to create new works in the context of a variety of public outreach activities.
